COMPOSITE REINFORCEMENT
Woven sheets of carbon, fiberglass, or other composites provide versatile reinforcement when epoxy bonded to the surface of concrete, masonry, or timber. Representative work includes floor slab improvements at the historic Getty Villa of Los Angeles, and wrapping of concrete columns for improved seismic ductility at the University of California, San Diego Medical Center. At New York's Woodland Viaduct, composite reinforcement facilitated strengthening of a historic bridge, without changing the graceful lines of the concrete arch.
